Cantine Lonardo 2016 Taurasi Campania

Noble Taurasi is on full display with Lonardo’s 2016, a spicy red with gorgeous mouthfeel. Sandro Lonardo is an important producer in Taurasi. He was among the first to work organically and tends vines at high altitudes. His wines are always focused bottlings of Aglianico, showing vertical characteristics with dark fruit, smokey complexion and layered tannins. The 2016 is pretty much firing on all cylinders, with a heavy aromatic punch of earth that blows off to reveal a red and black fruit compote laced with baking spices, and an evolving palate.
