Montenidoli 2023 Vernaccia di San Gimignano ‘Tradizione’ Toscana

A very elegant white farmed on sedimentary limestone soils at high altitudes in the Tuscan village of San Gimignano. Vernaccia di San Gimignano (to use the official name) can swing wildly from refreshing to a much heavier mouthfeel. Montenidoli is an absolute diamond among these wines. The ’22 Vernaccia has a smooth texture, showing lemon confit and minerality, all resting on a backdrop of delicate toasted almond-like texture. Montenidoli is a historic estate in San Gimignano led by matriarch Elisabetta Fagiuoli, currently in her 53rd vintage! She presides over some of the highest altitude vines in San Gimignano.
