Wine Classes!
Its been nearly 6 months since my last public class. I am so excited to have this series back up and running. For those new to my program, read on.
Welcome to my classroom!
My name is Paul Robinson and I am a former restaurant sommelier turned educator. I deliver authentic wine experiences at venues across the Bay Area of California. Classes are immersive and fun, revealing a real sense of place (history, geography, terroir and local cuisine) followed by a guided sensory evaluation in the glass. My events are part travel history, wine class and curated discussion, all rolled into 90 minutes! I typically focus on the world of Italian wine but expect to expand my curriculum to destinations in France, Spain and the US.
Class Details
I keep classes intimate by allowing for a maximum of 14 attendees. This means all levels of wine experience are addressed at the table: newbies will gain foundational knowledge and tasting skills, while experienced palates will level-up their education. I serve 7-8 wines, poured in 3 flights of 1.25oz pours, leaving a little left in the bottle to revisit. All classes come with placemats and a detailed 6-page booklet presenting the line-up along with photos and information on winemaking. I prefer large paper maps to an AV presentation, setting the stage for a round-table discussion instead feeling like a lecture hall. My friend and Chef Alessandro Campitelli provides a light spread of antipasto for each class, with home-made bread, cheese and salumi to match the theme.
