Hi, my name is Paul Robinson, and I am a sommelier who sources authentic Italian wine and leads tasting events for clients all over the Bay Area.

The online shop is a tightly-curated list of 50+ labels of Italian wine from small family-run wineries with high standards in the vineyard and winery. I offer a monthly educational membership visiting different sub-regions in Italy.

What is “Bottivino”?

Bottivino roughly translates to “wine cask”. The name is in reference to large vessels coopered with wood from the forests of France or Eastern Europe. ‘Botti’ are used by some of the world’s great winemakers to shape and elevate the expression of their wines. I spent time visiting cooperages in Italy and discovering the process from forest to barrel. I am drawn to wines aged in these great vessels.
