Cacciagalli 2022 Roccamonfina Rosso ‘Mille’ Campania
Cacciagalli 2022 Roccamonfina Rosso ‘Mille’ Campania
Old volcanic soils meet careful winemaking hands on the foothills of Roccamonfina volcano in Campania with thiw vibrant and textured red. The typical light and earthy Piedirosso is given a lift of fruit and rustic character by local Pallagrello and Aglianico for juicy red kissed by the nearby Mediterranean. Cacciagalli is a small winery at the foothills of the Roccamonfina volcano in northern Campania. Husband and wife team Diana Iannaccone (agronomist) and Mario Basco (winemaker) managing a large estate of vineyards, olive and hazelnut groves along with other seasonal crops. The land has been in Diana’s family for generations and she runs an all-organic operation with a focus on Biodynamic farming. The winemaking is hands-off with the use of native yeasts, spontaneous fermentation and aging in concrete and amphorae.
