Carlo Giacosa 2018 Barbaresco ‘Asili’ Piemonte

Carlo Giacosa is one of the secret values in Barbaresco and this 2018 Asili is absolutely gorgeous. From a cool-ish vintage it shows savory, earth and core of blue fruit that just keeps on going. After a stretch in the decanter, it relaxes into itself showing crush roses, licorice and a little baking spice. Tasted recently at a wine dinner. Yum!
