Champagne is one of the great gifts to the world of wine. I'm talking small family-led houses, often multigenerational, tending to their minuscule holdings with such reverence you'd think the church was still involved. It's true, the art of capturing the sparkle makes this beverage a little pricey for the everyday glass. However, considering the incredible moments i've had with Champagne, I'm convinced life is simply too short to not celebrate its complex gifts. So, ditch the flutes and start with Didier Gimonnet, Cedric Mousse and Laetitia Bolliot.
Gimonnet 'Cuis' is a luminescent Blanc de Blancs, reminiscent of a fitted sheet—crisp, clean, and soft against the skin. It comes from Premier Cru Chardonnay vines in the Cote de Blancs. Mousse 'Eugene' Blanc de Noirs contrasts with deep orchard fruit and warm, round tones, evoking the essence of autumn. It is primarily made from Pinot Meunier, hailing from the Valle de la Marne. Bolliot Rose is a plush and deep rosé, crafted through a method of bleeding the grapes (saignée), a delightful gift to the palate after a long day. Together, they represent great value from this wonderful region.
