Vintage Brunello

Carefully crafted Sangiovese from one of Montalcino’s secret talents, Dr Enzo Tiezzi. Poggio Cerrino is a one of Enzo’s prized vineyards located NE of the town with vines over 50 years old. 2016 was a robust vintage yielding meaty wines that will age gracefully over time. Out of the gate, this wine is on full display, showing a mature nose of roasted fruit, integrated spices and forest floor. Tiezzi is old school so expect little evolution, but this Brunello is speaking loudly right out of the bottle. Dr Tiezzi was the president of the Brunello Consorzio before acquiring old vineyards he then painstakingly transformed into grand cru wines!
