Barbaresco

Often overshadowed by its famous neighbor Barolo, Barbaresco has been the wine pro’s secret for years. The quality and variety of expressions from a single grape grown across four sub-regions is just astounding. These are wines of finesse, style and in the hands of careful winemakers, real substance. 

Francesco Versio is one of the rising stars of Barbaresco, and lately Barolo as well. His skills were honed at side of the venerable Bruno Giacosa, one of the great winemakers of the world. Although his DNA is traditionalist, this 2021 Barbaresco is a fresh and forward expression from the first to last glass, showing a core of red fruit emerging after an hour or so in a decanter.
