Castello di Verduno 2019 Barbaresco ‘Rabaja’ Piemonte
Castello di Verduno 2019 Barbaresco ‘Rabaja’ Piemonte
Recently tasted at a dinner for Nebbiolo lovers, Verduno’s 2019 Rabaja is a stunning and complete Barbaresco from first sip to last drop. Sourced from the fruit of Rabaja located in the village of Barbaresco proper, it is a vineyard known for producing intense character and exotic red fruit. Castello di Verduno is an historic property in the northerly commune of Verduno in Barolo. They are among few who produce from both areas with equally stunning results. The quality is in the vineyard, so to speak, for the Verduno wines are a transparent view into the character of each vintage, evidence of traditional winemaking. After about an hour of aeration, the red fruit turns maraschino cherry and wisps of underbrush and crushed minerals all emerge in the glass.
