Erpacrife 2019 zero dosage Metodo Classico Nebbiolo Rose Piemonte

Erpacrife 2019 zero dosage Metodo Classico Nebbiolo Rose Piemonte

One of Italy’s coolest sparkling wines has been thriving for nearly 25 years in Piemonte hills. Few are aware of this captivating bubbly produced from organically grown Nebbiolo grapes from the hills above Alba. Intense, aromatic and rather brawny on the palate, this sparkler is like Pinot Noir from the Valle de la Marne of Champagne. Tart red-berried fruit, Mediterranean citrus and a kiss of forest floor, this Rosato is a great pairing with roasted white meats and root vegetables.

Erpacrife is the brainchild of 4 childhood friends who love Champagne. Erik Dogliotti, Paolo Stella, Cristian Calatroni and Federico Scarzello began in 1999 with the goal of using native Piedmontese grapes for traditionally made sparkling wines, known in Italy as Metodo Classico. The base wine is fermented in oak with frequent lees stirring (weight and expression) and is aged for 24 months on the fine sediment, followed by 3 years in bottle.
