Ettore Germano 2021 Commune Serralunga d’Alba Barolo
Ettore Germano 2021 Commune Serralunga d’Alba Barolo
Elegant and refined Barolo from maestro Ettore Germano. Produced from various plots across the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, his 2021 shows a strong core of black cherry, forest floor and a touch of sweet spice. This is one precise and balanced Barolo, great for finer meats and red wine reductions. Sergio Germano is a second-generation winemaker in the village of Serralunga d’Alba, Barolo. After several years at oenology school and working for the behemoth estate Fontanafredda, Sergio returned home to tend his father’s vines. His wines are a paradox, showcasing a light touch within some of Barolo’s most structured and age-able vineyards. Sergio somehow coaxes clean-lines and polished tannins from his grapes, making wines that age gracefully. He grows 100% certified organic grapes and produces in grand cru vineyards in Prapo, Cerretta, Lazzarito and Vigne Rionda, an enviable portfolio indeed!
