Russo’s ‘A Rina’ is a perfect glass of Etna Rosso, showing how youthful vines a tempered by a traditionalist approach. The fruit is bright and complex, yet its sits on a strong frame supported by supple tannins and a generous dose of savory Etna's signature savory expression. This is pretty classic volcanic wine, ever-evolving soils producing expressive aroma and a lightly textured mouthfeel. Giuseppe Russo manages parcels of very old vines cultivated by his father. He is a thoughtful winemaker who follows the vintage. This 2022 has a lot of finesse.
