Malvira 2018 Roero Arneis ‘Renesio’ Piemonte

Piemonte’s celebrated white grape, Arneis, from its birthplace on the hill of Renesio in the Roero of Piemonte. A little history in the glass! The Damone family purchased parcels of Renesio back in 1985, recognized Arneis’s potential and have been stewards of these historic vines ever since. Renesio is a 6.5 hectar vineyard facing south/southeast between 260-300 meters in elevation and boasts a mix of clay and white limestone interspersed with sand. The 2018 freshness and nuance has not diminished an inch in the last 7 years. It shows elevated stone fruit and citrus mixed with white flowers in the glass, and delivers minerality and a kiss of acacia on the palate. This is one complex and lovely medium-bodied white, especially as it develops in the glass.
