Marchesi di Gresy 2022 Dolcetto ‘Aribaldo’ Piemonte

Marchesi di Gresy 2022 Dolcetto ‘Aribaldo’ Piemonte

A plush and refreshing red showing Dolcetto’s effusive side without the weight of ripeness or any oak. Aged in steel and concrete to help lift the fruit, this Dolcetto is the perfect lunchtime glass with salumi, pasta and light meats. The Grésy family have been fixtures in the winemaking scene in Barbaresco and Monferratto since the late 1700’s. Although they began as traditional farmers, in the 1970’s Alberto Gresy recognized the potential for grape growing and began the transformation from grape growers to estate bottling. They produce from a single hill called Martinenga in western Barbaresco near Rabaja and Asili. They own the entire vineyard, exceedingly rare in Barbaresco, and were among the first to isolate different vineyard rows to bottle separately. The house style is traditional, with a focus on restrained fruit expression matched with a deep sense of place.
