Margherita Otto 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo Piemonte

An American in the Langhe producing exceptional Nebbiolo from historic vines. Hell yes! Margherita Otto is led by Alan Manley, a native of New Jersey. Allan worked for legends in the Langhe Barolo Mascarello and Luciano Sandrone, before collecting enough small vineyard plots to make wine for himself. He organically farms miniscule vineyard parcels across 3 communes of Barolo and blends them together like the wines of old. This is honest and nuanced Langhe Nebbiolo, crafted in a hot vintage when most picked way too early. Elegant lines, lean red fruit expression, underbrush, touch of strawberry compote and lots of character unfolding as it develops in the glass.
