Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is Piemonte's gift to the world of wine. It is a finicky grape capable of stunning wines exclusively produced in northwestern Italy. Here are two examples to showcase Nebbiolo's range and depth of expression. First, a 30 year old project by 3 friends in Piemonte who have brought Champagne-method production to this kingly grape. Erpacrife's rose-style wine has all the elements of great Champagne, yet with that unmistakable Nebbiolo nuance: evolved red fruit, brioche and a touch of minerality. To compliment, a classical Barolo from the benchmark family Oddero. The 2020 is just rocking out of the bottle, with a floral and mineral-laden nose belying its plush and forward palate.
