Pierre Gimonnet NV Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru ‘Cuis’ Champagne
Pierre Gimonnet NV Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru ‘Cuis’ Champagne
This is one balanced, crisp and uncomplicated glass of Champagne! Pierre Gimonnet’s premier cru called ‘Cuis’ is made from Chardonnay grapes in the famed limestone soils of the Cote de Blancs. The Cuis palate is lean, vibrant and mineral-driven, yet versatile enough to stand up to an evening of frivolity. The Gimonnet family has been growing grapes in the Cote de Blancs since the late 1700’s, with their first estate bottling in 1935. They are among the most celebrated growers of Chardonnay in Champagne, with a particular monopoly of old-vines (hard to find in Champagne). Today, Dider Gimonnet farms 28 hectar of vines across grand cru and premier cru vines in the Cote de Blancs and village of Ay.
