Visit Tuscany and it becomes clear, Sangiovese is everywhere. As the leading grape in the wines of Chianti, Brunello, Scansano, Vino Nobile, etc... Sangiovese has developed a reputation for incredible range, from the age-able to the everyday glass. In the Apennine hills, they are fragrant and refreshing while closer to the Mediterranean they run wider, with more pronounced body and spice. Wherever grown, an elevated food experience is not far behind. I cannot recommend enough to pair salumi, hard cheese or bite of pasta when consuming quality Sangiovese.
