Polished Sangiovese from the top of Radda in the Chianti Classico of Toscana. Wow! Lots of lift, blue-ish fruit and a fine-grained almost silky mouthfeel. Quite Burgundian in style but with that unmistakable Italian attitude. That is one hell of an edge to hold, especially from an Englishman working in Chianti. He uses concrete and large casks, along with native yeast fermentation and organic viticulture, a hands-off approach to the expression of Sangiovese from these hills.
